Macu
Co-Founder
Maria Cuba is a Puerto Rico native, raised in Massachusetts, who has been listed as one of the 100 most influential Latinas in the US. Maria has a proven track record in helping emerging companies build successful cultures through consulting and advocacy for serving diverse stakeholders. She was one of Airbnb’s earliest employees and the founder of their Latino ERG “Juntos.” She is the former Director of Community Partnerships at Airbnb, working closely with partners and amplifying their work with and for communities. In recent years, her work has been focused on fostering inclusion and belonging, having successfully done so at Airbnb and throughout the tech ecosystem in the Bay Area and beyond.
Macu has also focused her career on creating inclusive products and ensuring the dignified representation of all people in the workplace and at company brand levels. She was the co-vice-chair of the IGLTA Foundation board, a board member of the Boys and Girls Club in PR, as well as a member of the Hispanic Star Gala committee in NY. She is an engaging speaker, having presented at multiple conferences across North America, Latin America, and Europe, and serves as an advisor to several socially focused organizations.
A fun fact about Macu is that she can’t stop herself from hugging a big tree whenever she sees one.
Santi
Co-Founder
Santiago Aguirre was born in Colombia, raised partially in the US and currently resides in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, Canada. They have worked in the Tourism industry for over 7 years mostly in Destination Marketing, Destination Development and LGBTQ+ inclusion in travel. Simultaneously, they have been involved in LGBTQ+ movement by pushing for furthering the visibility of queer people in public space having co-organized the largest public LGBTQ+ festival in their hometown of Medellin. As a co-founder of Around the Table Consulting Group, Santi helps run culture disruption initiatives in the corporate sector and is helping rethink the concepts of inclusion and belonging in today’s organizations, big and small.
Santi is also an avid traveller having visited over 25 countries, speaks 4 languages and ventures in hospitality, with projects in Puerto Rico and Colombia. Santiago identifies as gender non-conforming and prefers the use of they/them pronouns.
A fun fact about Santi is that their love for storytelling and performing arts, led them to study and work in acting for 2 years before they embarked in their current professional field.
